August 27: Introductions, procedures, "Growth Mindset" discussion, and an introduction to EES.
HW: Return signed syllabus, All About Me 'Facebook' sheet, and Lab Safety contract by FRIDAY AUGUST 31st! Make sure to bring in a composition notebook as soon as possible--September 4 (Tuesday) the latest.
August 28: Lab safety overview, Earth Science sub-specialties, Earth 'spheres', and beginning of scientific method.
HW: None
August 29: Scientific Method, Experimentation vs. Investigation, and Latin/Greek root words.
HW: Lab report Write-Up! Design your own experiment, starting with a hypothesis and ending with a conclusion. A template for this assignment is in the 'Files' section below. This is due at the beginning of class tomorrow (types or written legibly). Remember to have signed contracts turned in BY Friday (8/31) the latest.
August 30: Measurement (Section 1.2 in eBook), Introduction to scientific notation.
HW: NO quiz tomorrow! I have rescheduled it to Tuesday. Come prepared. Also, make sure that you bring a signed lab safety contract to class tomorrow morning! If you do not have access to a printer at home, but have internet, review it with your guardian and have them send me an email tonight with their written consent.
